Top news
EARTH will not be attending the 2004 International Language in Education 2004 Conference, as its paper was rejected by two of the three committee members who selected paper topics.

In celebration of last month's 24th newsletter (an uninterrupted two-year run), EARTH's recent relocation, and the upcoming holiday season, newsletter operations will be suspended for the months of November and December. So, see you next year after the 2005 WEAI and HKEA Pacific Rim Conference. In the meantime...

Acknowledgments
Special thanks this month go to KOSHIKAWA Takafumi and three of my students at ETON College for making EARTH's relocation a smooth and enjoyable move. Continued appreciation is extended to Professor Harold F. Schiffman for making his Language Policy mailing list available to EARTH's HKLNA-Project.  EARTH also thanks its patient funders, moral supporters, and Hong Kong enthusiasts, whose names I dare no longer mention (See Newsletter No.22 under Acknowledgments for explanation).

Closing Remarks
Please do not forget to take advantage of EARTH's quality translation, research, and new tutorial service.  EARTH's survival is the foundation for the HKLNA-Project's success!

Sincerely,

1 Between two of the members of the ILEC 2004 selection committee this expression apparently means: if the system works well for Hong Kong's establishment, then it must be working well for everyone.  I am certainly open for other interpretations!
