Note 1: See table 45 for values and method of calculation. (table)
Note 2: Please see note 2 of table 45 for explanation of the future adjustment factor. (table)
Notes 3: Multiplying the value found in column (1) by the value found in column (2) for each year yields the value in column (3) for that year. The value in column (3) represents the value in column (1) at the time of graduation in 2006, if the value in column (1) is reinvested each year until the time of graduation. Summing across all years in column (3) yields the  cumulative worth of a Hong Kong secondary form VII  English language education in 2004 market prices. It is also the opportunity loss to a secondary form VII graduate who does not employ his English language knowledge after graduation. (table)
Note 4: Please see note 2 of table 45 for explanation of the future adjustment factor. (table)
Note 5: Multiplying the value found in column (1) by the value found in column (4) for each year yields the value in column (5) for that year. The value in column (5) represents the value in column (1) at the time of graduation in 2004, if the value in column (1) is reinvested each year until the time of graduation. Summing across all years in column (5) yields the  cumulative worth of a Hong Kong secondary form V English language education in 2004 market prices. It is also the opportunity loss to a secondary form V graduate who does not employ his English language knowledge after graduation. (table)
